American variety, named in honour of the Pennsylvanian farmer who discovered it around 1820. The Seckel is thought to be a hybrid of Asian and European pears. They are the smallest commercially-grown pears and are sometimes called ‘sugar pears’

Available nearly all year round; excellent for pickling and spicing and a very good keeper when refrigerated
