The Nursery at St Anns Allotments is STAA’s flagship horticulture project. This inclusive space welcomes all abilities with its raised beds and accessible growing areas. The Nursery is where we cultivate fresh food and flowers with help from community groups and volunteers. It is the base for many activities and a welcoming space for participants who want to engage in some social gardening.

Filled with productive growing spaces, including for those with less mobility, our Horticulture project at the Nursery nurtures a love for food and flower growing.

Local residents, volunteers, community groups and students can gain valuable growing skills, improve their health and wellbeing and build social connections whilst growing fresh produce for the local community.

Local groups have the opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables for our Community Harvest Project with support from our experienced horticulture team.

The Nursery hosts many learning opportunities including our City & Guilds 7573 in Practical Horticulture.
- Our twice weekly volunteer sessions provide a range of learning opportunities, build social connections as well as producing fresh organic produce that is directed back to local projects and social cafes.
