Summer workshops
Make your own Summer hanging basketSaturday 25 June, 10:00-12:00, £35Come along and create your own lovely 14-inch, moss-lined Summer basket to take home. You will learn how to select a good range of trailing and semi-trailing plants that burst with colour until the Autumn frosts.
Grow with us: What to do in the veg plot in SummerSaturday 25 June, 13:30-15:30, £25& Wednesday 29 June, 10:00-12:00, £25A hands-on workshop to learn jobs for the season, including successional sowing of seeds for late Summer and Autumn harvests, planting out young, tender plants, and Summer pruning.
Make your own flower crownSaturday 9 July, 10:00-12:00, £35A relaxing workshop to try the intricacies of wiring flowers and greenery to construct a beautiful flower crown. Learn useful tips for making your own crowns, corsages and buttonholes for weddings and proms.
Propagate your own herbal tea gardenSaturday 9 July, 10:00-12:00, £25Learn the principles of stem cutting, make your own tea plant ‘pot’, best practices for drying your herbs, DIY tea bags, and taste delightful herbal teas in our beautiful historic garden – lemon verbena, lavender and apple mint.
Grow with us: Planning your winter veg cropSaturday 23 July, 10:00-12:00, £25Learn how to spread your harvest across the year with our winter and spring crop workshop. No need for a barren garden come December, join us to discover how to design for Winter feasting.

The Community Orchard runs free events for all ages every month.

New! Social gardening mornings
Socialise and relax – join us for a morning of relaxed social gardening for local people on the beautiful Heritage Display Garden. This event is free and we welcome people of all ages and ability. We will provide gardening tools, and we will serve free tea and coffee ☕

Heritage talks
We’re now open for bespoke heritage talk bookings for your community groups, U3As, gardening and history clubs, etc. Mo Cooper will cover the fascinating 700-year history of the Hungerhills site, its use as a Victorian pleasure garden and the grassroots campaign to save the allotments from redevelopment.
Mo is a Nottingham based Community Historian delivering talks, walks and community heritage projects. She was the Heritage Officer at the allotments from 2007 to 2016. For more info or to enquire about dates, please email Holly at info@staa-allotments.org.uk
